I may even purchase an 8k TV simply because with an RTX 4090 and a game like this, you can probably do some interesting things. Im hoping in 2 weeks, but im going to do it right and not cut corners. Time of launch has definitely changed because I didnt expect all this headroom, but its done when its done. If you want exotic retro experiences that you have never seen before, you have come to the right place.

It also appears to once loaded, run really fast with no indications of slow down like with DOOM 3 which is very CPU bound.īefore you complain, I dont do I dont care level mods and max out all x86 so it cannot be improved without programming sorcery, and therefore is useful in the future. But its gorgeous and compliments injectable raytracing and rasterization tweaks extremely well. Loading times will increase SUBSTANTIALLY. It will be comparable to a total remaster from a professional studio by the time im done with the exception of maybe one tree thats playing hard to get at the start of the game and that just dumpster fire grass pop in range. I will have to go back and do even more hand work on all the games textures before launch. Its literally totally stable across 7 level compiles in a row ive sampled.

This mod is going to be really useful for people with 8k screens in the future. The way levels compile only a slice of the now absurdly large file means I havent hit the wall where it crashes yet, and the way that extra 2GBs of usable memory scales is why its such a huge file.
The game would crash at 17GBs without large address aware patch which doesnt just work out of the gate and required a community patch to function.
This mod will require a 4k screen to make any sense.
